Terms of Service

The agreement between you and KamalCloud, including what we are responsible for and what stays yours.

Last updated 14 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Martin Business Consultants, [registered address] ("we", "us"). They cover your use of the KamalCloud application, its API and CLI, and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you accept them for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.

1. What KamalCloud is

KamalCloud is a control plane for Kamal. It creates and manages servers in cloud accounts you connect, hardens them, runs Kamal deployments against your repositories, takes backups to storage you own, and reports on cost and health. KamalCloud does not rent you servers and is not in the path of your applications' traffic.

2. Your account

  • You must give accurate information and keep your password and API tokens secure.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by people you invite and by API tokens you issue.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • You must be at least 16 and able to enter into a binding contract.

3. Your infrastructure, and our access to it

  • Servers, cloud accounts, git repositories, storage buckets and their contents remain yours. You pay your providers directly, under your own agreements with them. KamalCloud never resells infrastructure.
  • By connecting them, you authorise KamalCloud to act on them as you direct: to log in over SSH, call provider APIs, deploy, back up, restore, and apply changes you request or approve.
  • Some actions can be expensive or cannot be undone, such as creating or deleting servers, removing environments, or restoring over existing data. KamalCloud asks for confirmation where it can, but you are responsible for the actions you take or approve, and for the charges your providers bill.
  • You are responsible for keeping backups that meet your own needs, and for checking that you can restore from them.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use KamalCloud to:

  • Manage infrastructure you are not authorised to control
  • Break the law, or the terms of your cloud providers or git hosts
  • Distribute malware, send spam, or attack or scan systems without permission
  • Interfere with the service, get around its rate limits or access controls, or reach other accounts' data
  • Resell the service without our written agreement

Security research carried out under the rules on our Security page is welcome.

5. Plans, fees and trials

  • Plans and prices are listed on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, and prices exclude taxes unless stated.
  • A free trial becomes a paid plan only if you choose one. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, taking effect at your next billing period.
  • Fees already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires it or we say otherwise in writing.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, and service continues to the end of the paid period. Cancelling does not touch your servers: your applications keep running and your Kamal configuration keeps working, but KamalCloud stops managing them. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data afterwards.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, fail to pay, or put the service or other customers at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Suspension stops KamalCloud acting on your infrastructure. It does not shut down your servers.

8. Our software and your content

We own the KamalCloud service and software. You keep all rights in your code, configuration and data, and you give us only the rights we need to operate the service for you. The configuration KamalCloud writes for you is standard Kamal configuration, which you may keep and use without KamalCloud.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep KamalCloud available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will give you reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in these terms, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that deployments, hardening, backups or cost figures will be error-free. Cost figures are estimates based on providers' published prices, and your providers' invoices are what you actually pay.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Each party's total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Indemnity

You will cover our reasonable costs of third-party claims that arise from infrastructure or content you manage through KamalCloud without the right to do so, or from your breach of section 4.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account owners at least 30 days before they take effect. If you continue using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
